Jack Cilingiryan has been a real estate and bankruptcy attorney for over 30 years. After having worked for law firms and established businesses, in 2000 he made the decision to establish his own firm, with the intention of creating and maintaining a small, high quality practice that would enable him to handle client matters personally.

Mr. Cilingiryan frequently represents individuals and small business owners in their real estate and bankruptcy matters. He also represents business entities and individuals in State and Municipal courts in Passaic, Bergen and Hudson counties and throughout New Jersey.

Although concentrating on real estate and bankruptcy law, he also represents clients in a wide array of complex legal issues and is approachable to answer any legal questions you may have. He prides himself on the ability to carefully listen to the particular needs of his clients.

Mr. Cilingiryan received his law degree from State University of New York at Buffalo, where he was Articles Editor of the Buffalo International Law Journal. He also holds a bachelor's degree from New York University. Mr. Cilingiryan has been an in-house corporate attorney for a real estate development firm and collection agency.

Secured final default judgment against a commercial developer after initiating foreclosure litigation against property. After Sheriff's sale, property reverted back to private lender.

Defended private school in lawsuit alleging non-payment of vendor security deposit by successfully arguing entitlement to withhold payment because of severe vendor-inflicted damages to gym floor.

Settled case against real estate broker for zero dollars to plaintiff who accused client of not disclosing air rights of sign on top of commercial building after sign owner refused removal.

Obtained dismissal in lawsuit claiming unlawful commission in sale of commercial building against real estate broker by clearly presenting monies earned as referral fee rather than commission paid.

Reopened and settled client's case for 50% less than initial final default judgment.

Negotiated early termination of a commercial tenant's lease without litigation.

Represented a wide range of businesses in commercial property lease transactions and litigation, including carpet and rug retailers, online import/export retailers, Manhattan shoe and handbag retailers, marble and tile companies, furniture retailers, and fuel operators.

Won a large personal injury settlement for a case that lacked any police reports and had been refused by several other attorneys, by identifying the store owner liable for a slip and fall on a snow and ice covered sidewalk in front of a building that was later sold.
